About Us

BlorboAdopts started as a little side project created by EroGlitch during a time when she felt stuck, and her perfectionism (the super negative and not-so-helpful kind) wouldn’t let her create a single thing. The idea behind it was simple: a place to experiment, try new things, learn how to create colorful markings, design without overthinking every tiny detail, and maybe, fail. A space where designs could just exist and hopefully find someone who loves them.

You can find our adopts on ToyHouse, DeviantArt, Instagram, FurAffinity, and Twitter.

Terms of Service

Thank you so much for making sure to read the TOS!
We tried to make this section as short and easy to understand as possible!

Acknowledgement

  • You acknowledge that these TOS are for official BlorboAdopts designs only, as guest artists may have their own different TOS.

  • If there’s ever a discrepancy between the ToS listed on this Carrd and the mini ToS included in a post description, the post description should be considered the correct one. (For example, the ToS on this Carrd may state that designs are for personal use only, but certain post descriptions may specify that commercial use is permitted for that design.)

Bidding, Payment, Holds, & Refunds

  • Only bid if you plan on paying, please. Ghosting or mock bids are a blacklisting offense.

  • Do not delete bids; we can see them.

  • Do not attack nor guilt other bidders. That's not nice.

  • Adopt payments are final and non-refundable.

  • Holds and payment plans might be available depending on the design. We will state the available options under every post.

The ToyHouse Clause

  • Official BlorboAdopts designs must remain listed on ToyHouse at all times. You can read why, here

  • If you do not have an account, please, reach out and we will provide you with a free invite code.

Personal & Commercial Usage

All designs are for personal use only, unless:

  • The post description specifically states otherwise

  • You reached the commercial rights tier in the auction, or

  • You’ve paid the commercial usage fee. This fee can be paid at any time. Just reach out if you'd like to upgrade ♡

(Commercial usage includes things like brand mascots, brand personas, merchandisable characters, Vtuber models, and similar uses.)

Editing | Revamping | Redesigning

  • You’re welcome to change traits, species, markings, and accessories as long as the design remains recognizable.

  • Please, do not edit directly on top of the original image. If you redesign the character, please do it on a separate canvas rather than altering the original file.

  • Don't delete the OG file

  • If you later decide to trade, gift, or sell the character, the original design and any redesigns must remain linked. They count as one character, not separate ones.

  • Creating breedable characters from our designs is not allowed.

Reselling | Trading | Gifting

  • You may not resell the design for more than what you originally paid, plus the value of any additional art. Please price fairly.

  • Traded designs cannot be sold for money. They can only be traded for other designs or art.

  • Gifted designs may only be gifted or traded, never sold.

FAQ

Got questions? You might find the answer here! This section covers some common things people ask about adopts and how things work around here. I tried my best to explain everything clearly, but if you still have any doubts, please, feel free to reach out!

About adopts

What are adopts?

Adoptables (adopts for short) are pre-made character designs created by an artist and sold to a new owner. Once you buy one, the character is yours to use, develop, and make your own.

Why would someone pay money for a digital drawing?

For many people, it’s less about the image itself and more about the character behind it.Adopts give you a unique character design you can use in stories, roleplay, art commissions, or personal projects. It’s also a nice way to support artists whose work you enjoy.

Why buy an adopt instead of designing a character myself?

You absolutely can design your own character if that’s something you enjoy! But not everyone likes designing characters from scratch, and sometimes you just come across a design you really like.Buying adopts is also a simple way to support artists while getting a character you can use for roleplay, stories, commissions, or personal projects.

Why are some adopts so expensive?

It usually comes down to time, experience, and demand. Some designs take hours to create, and artists price them according to their work and how sought-after their adopts are. When you buy one, you’re not just paying for the drawing, but also for the exclusive right to own and use that character.Like with any art, more established artists or highly sought-after designs can end up costing more. That being said, adoptables exist at all kinds of price points, so there’s usually something for every budget.

Do I need to know how to draw to own a character?

Not at all! Plenty of people who own characters don’t draw. You can still use them for roleplay, stories, games, or commission other artists to draw them for you.

What do people usually do with adoptable characters?

Some use them for stories or roleplay, some want a design they might not have come up with on their own to live through them, commission other artists to draw, or even draw them themselves. Some people simply enjoy collecting characters they love. There's no right or wrong way to enjoy them!

Is owning an adoptable like owning copyright?

Not exactly. When you buy an adopt, you become the owner of the character design, which means you can use the character for things like roleplay, stories, commissions, and personal projects. The artist who created the design still remains the original creator of the artwork. If you’d like to use the character for commercial purposes, you can usually purchase a commercial license for an additional fee.

Are adoptables a kind of collectible? Can characters really become valuable?

For some people, yes! Many enjoy collecting character designs from artists they like, or characters that fit certain aesthetics or themes. Others simply like having a small cast of characters they can use in stories, roleplay, or commissions. All characters are valuable to their owners, but in terms of monetary value, sometimes they can! If a character receives a lot of artwork, develops a story, or becomes well known within a community, their value can increase over time. That said, most people buy adopts simply because they like the design, not necessarily as an investment.

About designs

How often do you post adopts?

There’s no fixed schedule. Adopts will be posted whenever a batch/design is finished, depending on time, inspiration, and how cooperative the designs feel that day.

What kind of designs do you offer?

Designs here will usually be (hopefully) colorful, playful, and a bit experimental. You’ll find a mix of different species, themes, and styles depending on the batch.BlorboAdopts is a project adoptable account where EroGlitch can experiment and get out of her comfort zone, so anything outside of her usual style goes!

Are the designs one-of-a-kind?

Yes, they are! Each adopt is a unique design. Once someone buys it, the character belongs to them and it won’t be resold to anyone else. That being said, it’s not uncommon for some colors or traits to appear across different designs. Even so, every character is created to feel distinct and different from the others.

Do you take suggestions for future designs or batches?

Of course! I’m always happy to hear ideas or themes people would like to see. While I can’t promise I’ll use every suggestion, they can definitely help inspire future designs or batches.

Where do you post your adopts?

We post adopts on ToyHouse, DeviantArt, Instagram, FurAffinity, and Twitter. Make sure to follow us on your preferred social media to get notified of new designs!

Are your designs fursuit-friendly?

Most of them are! It usually depends on the design. If a character is specifically intended to be fursuit-friendly, it will normally be mentioned in the description.

Can I change the design after buying it?

Yes! Once you buy a character, it’s yours to enjoy. Small edits, redesigns, and tweaks are perfectly fine as long as:

  • The original design remains recognizable.

  • You don’t edit the original artwork directly. If you redesign the character, please do it on a separate canvas rather than altering the original file.

  • Don't delete the OG file

  • And the original design and your redesign are still treated as the same character. If you sell or trade them, both versions should go together.

Do designs come with extra views or reference sheets?

The designs usually come with what is advertised. Sometimes extra views may be unlocked if the bids reach certain milestones, but this will always be clearly stated in the description.

Bidding terminology and process

Not sure how bidding works? No problem! This section explains the basic process and the most common auction terms you'll see in adopt posts.

STEP 1: A design is published up for adoption

You found an adopt and you'd like to buy it, hooray! Before starting the process, please make sure the adopt is OPEN (it will always be clearly stated whether it is open or closed), and take a moment to read the rules and permissions.

STEP 2: The bidding starts

You’ve read all the rules and are okay with them, so now it’s time to try and claim the design! When it comes to adoptables, there are a few different ways they can be sold:

Flat sale

The adopt has a fixed price, so there’s no auction involved. If you’d like to buy it, simply claim it before someone else does! You may also come across the term: FCFS, which stands for First Come, First Served. Basically, the first to claim it wins it.

OTA (Offer To Adopt)

Instead of a fixed price or auction, people can make offers for the design. These offers can include money, art, characters, or a mix of them depending on what the artist accepts. The artist will then choose the offer they prefer. This may happen within 24 hours, after a few days, or whenever the artist receives an offer they are happy with.

Gacha

The artist designs a batch of adoptables, usually smaller in size, and places them on a grid with numbers to make them easier to reference. The artist will then list the rules and prices in the description. You'll have 2.5 ways to get a design:

  • Roll: You ask for a roll, and a generator will assign you a random design number (the artist will tell you which one it is). Once it’s revealed, you can decide whether you’d like to keep it and pay for the design, or request a re-roll for a small fee to try your luck again.

  • Re-Roll: The artist generates a new random number and reveals a different design. If you decide to keep this new character, you’ll pay the roll price plus the re-roll fee. If not, you can keep re-rolling as many times as the artist allows, just keep in mind that all re-roll fees will need to be paid when you finalize your choice.

  • AB: If autobuy is available, you can skip the random part entirely and directly purchase the design you want.

BTA (Bid To Adopt) / Auction

This is the most common method.
In an auction, people compete for the design by placing bids in a chain order.
The artist will usually list a Starting Bid (SB), a Minimum Increase (MI), and sometimes an Auto-Buy (AB) price.

  • SB: Starting bid. This is the minimum amount the first bidder can offer. (ie $15)

  • MI: This is the minimum amount you must add if you want to outbid the previous bidder. Of course, you’re always welcome to bid higher if you’d like! (ie: if the previous bid was the SB of $15 and the MI is $5, the next valid bid would be at least $20 ($15 + $5)).

  • AB: If you want to claim the adopt without having to compete with other people, you can AB the design at any moment.

You might also see the acronym TBA next to the AB. TBA stands for To Be Added, and it simply means the AB price will be added later.

STEP 3: The winner is chosen

When the auction ends, the person with the highest valid bid wins the design. The artist will then reach out with payment details so the adopt can officially go to its new home.

STEP 4: The payment is sent

The winner sends the payment according to the artist’s instructions. Once the payment is confirmed, the artist will ask for the winner’s ToyHouse account so the character can be transferred.

STEP 5: The character is transferred to you!

Once everything is ready, the artist will transfer the character to your ToyHouse account, making you the new official owner!
If you’ve paid and the character hasn’t been transferred yet, please don’t worry! The artist may simply be in a different time zone and will complete the transfer as soon as they’re able.

Payment

What payment methods do you accept?

For official BlorboAdopts designs, PayPal is the only accepted payment method. If the buyer can't pay with Paypal, a Ko-Fi option may be requested (Ko-Fi accepts cards).Guest artists might accept other methods, please, check the adoptable description to see the available methods they offer.

Can I pay with art/another character/DeviantArt Points/Robux instead of with money?

Only money is accepted for official BlorboAdopts designs, sorry! If guest artists accept other non-monetary payments, they will state so in the corresponding design description.

How long do I have to pay? Do you allow holds?

Payment is expected within 24 hours after winning an auction or claiming a design. If something unexpected comes up, just let me know and we can figure it out!Holds are sometimes accepted. Short holds may be allowed depending on the design and current demand. Feel free to ask, but I might have to decline if the adopt is in high demand.Guest artists might have a different stance on holds, feel free to ask them!

Do you allow payment plans?

Sometimes! Payment plans may be available for higher-priced adopts (120€ and up). Feel free to ask before bidding, either in a comment or a DM!If guest artists accept payment plans, they will usually state so in the corresponding design description. If not, feel free to ask them!

What happens if I can’t pay after bidding?

Please only bid if you’re certain you can pay. If something unexpected happens, please, let me know as soon as possible.Disappearing after winning a bid counts as ghosting, and is a blacklisting offense. Ghosting is disheartening and unjust for both, the artists and the other bidders.

Can I ask for a refund?

Adoptable designs are final and non-refundable.

I'm gonna issue a chargeback!

Issuing a chargeback after receiving the design is considered fraud. If a chargeback occurs:
a) We keep records of all transactions and will dispute the chargeback.
b) The rights to the character will be revoked and the design will be resold.c) The user responsible will be permanently blacklisted from future sales and may be publicly warned about in artist communities to help prevent others from being scammed.

Miscelaneous

How can we know whether an adopt is made by a guest artist or is an official BlorboAdopts design?

Official BlorboAdopts designs are all of those created by @EroGlitch and posted directly on DeviantArt, Twitter, ToyHouse, and FurAffinity.Designs posted on Instagram may either be:

  • Official BlorboAdopts designs (when posted only by the @BlorboAdopts account).

  • Guest artist designs (when published as a joint post between the artist and @BlorboAdopts).

Can I be an admin/guest artist?

Thank you so much for the interest!BlorboAdopts is currently managed by @EroGlitch, and for now the project is being kept as a small one-person account.Guest artists may occasionally be featured, but these opportunities are not usually open to the public. When guest artists appear, they are typically artists Ero already knows or artists selected through occasional application openings.

What software do you use?

I use Photoshop for pretty much everything, although occasionally I might add a detail or two in Clip Studio (I still can’t quite make it work for me, help!).Hopefully in the future I will be able to add Procreate to this list.

Why the insistence on keeping the characters on ToyHouse?

ToyHouse just makes life a lot easier when it comes to keeping track of characters and their owners. If a design ever gets traded, gifted, or resold down the line, the transfer history helps keep everything clear and organized. It’s also really helpful if any weird situations ever happen. In the rare case of character theft or someone claiming a design that isn’t theirs, it’s super easy to check the ToyHouse history and confirm who the rightful owner is.You don’t have to actively use ToyHouse yourself if you don’t want to, but keeping the character listed there helps everyone keep track of things and avoids confusion later on.
